A farewell letter from Dr. Tanya Kormeili as she opens her practice in Santa Monica...

Dear Manhattan Beach Dermatology patients,

It has been a sincere pleasure caring for you here at Manhattan Beach Dermatology for nearly a decade. I could not have asked for a better colleague than Dr. Rackett to work with all these years. Dr. Rackett and I shared the same vision of high integrity care for every patient, and I am so proud of him for having built such an amazing practice.

As many of you know, I have always wanted to start my own practice, and starting in August, I will be exclusively practicing in Santa Monica. It has been a true honor and pleasure to be a part of your lives and to have learned and grown with you as your dermatologist. Thank you for being the wonderful people you are. I truly have enjoyed practicing here and caring for you through the years.

My replacement, Dr. Dina Bierman, is a trusted colleague that Dr. Rackett has chosen to be a valuable addition to Manhattan Beach Dermatology. Obviously, I will do whatever it takes to make this transition a smooth one for all of you. My office is always available to answer any of your questions or concerns. All your medical records will be available with Manhattan Beach Dermatology.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to take a moment of gratitude to recognize all the hard work of our staff and Dr. Rackett and thank you to our patients for making this a wonderful professional journey for me.

Dina Bierman, MD is a fellowship trained Dermatologic Surgeon, specializing in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, and a board-certified Dermatologist who has joined our practice following a full-time faculty position at UCLA.

Dr. Bierman graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she also earned her medical degree. Dr. Bierman completed her Dermatology residency at the University of California, Irvine, where she served as chief resident, and a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous Oncology.  Dr. Bierman has received numerous accolades for her clinical skills and services and remains an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgeons. She has published her research in leading medical journals, including the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.

Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Bierman remains a dedicated educator and activist. She continues to enjoy teaching UCLA residents and medical students at the Venice Family Clinic where she volunteers her time and expertise, and UC Irvine residents and medical students at the Long Beach Veterans Affairs Hospital. In her free time, Dr. Bierman enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Dr Bierman will be preforming Mohs surgery on Mondays at Manhattan Beach Dermatology.   Mohs surgery is a specialized procedure for treating skin cancers located on the face, hands, lower legs, and feet.
