Dear Friends,
Community activists hold politicians accountable. Many think that voting is our sole civic responsibility. This is as far from the truth as it can be. In my 34 years of activity, the only way to ensure things go your way is to show up before and during the legislative process. Ed Banks was that kind of person.
Mr. Banks was a shining example of boots on the ground activism, he epitomized what being a good neighbor is about. Caring enough to fight for others, often without acknowledgment or reward.
Ed Banks will be greatly missed by all of the Third Ward community.
