Dr. Thomas F. Freeman
We want to send our sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Thomas F. Freeman. For years, Dr. Freeman, his wife Clarice and their son Carter have been supporters and patients of Poindexter Dental.
Dr. Freeman is a champion coach who lead Texas Southern University’s debate team for more than 70 years. His legacy includes teaching former U.S. Representatives Mickie Leland and Barbara Jordan, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and gospel superstar Yolanda Adams. Freeman also coached Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington for his role in “The Great Debaters.”
Dr. Freeman served as pastor of Mt. Horem Baptist Church in Fifth Ward for 69 years, and was a highly sought-after speaker for engagements throughout Houston.
Dr. Freeman will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on through his family and the thousands of students he influenced.
